Unit Applications and Programs Available

We have programs that help families and units nationwide and some that are geographically specific.

If you are a unit representative (must be a command team member and full time employee of the unit to request our programs), please check​ out the programs below and click on the links to submit your requests.

Nationwide Efforts

No matter where you are in the United States, the following programs can be used to help your families and single service members: 
  • Operation Christmas Spirit
    • Units must request participation for families, single service member gifts and Christmas party toys by 10/15/20​
  • Operation Enduring Support Crisis Assistance for families in emergency situations. 
    • We provide gift cards, baby supplies, gently used furniture, household goods, and financial help for families in crisis.
    • We consider: 
      • Families dealing with medical situations-- sick family members, injured families members and service members
      • Death of immediate family members
      • Injury of service member
      • Natural disasters (we have helped families recover from hurricanes, fires, explosions, floods and tornadoes)
      • Accidents (car, pedestrian, etc.)
      • Families in financial situations that would be considered unsafe for the children in the family (families in need of immediate help with food, furniture, medical attention, etc.)
      • Families put in unexpected crisis: theft of belongings, mental health crisis, sudden expenses that couldn't be planned for.
    • We do NOT consider needs that arise due to poor budgeting or over spending
    • Families can be:
      • self referred through our online application with the inclusion of an LES statement and verification of service
      • Referred by a member of the command team, deployment readiness coordinators, uniformed readiness officers, FRG officers, chaplains, etc. in emergency situations. This expedites the process for families we need to help immediately. To make a unit-initiated referral, either fill out the information you can on the form above OR email Cindy at [email protected] from your .mil account.  

Southern California Programs

We've been helping units, service members and families in SoCal since 2001, almost a decade before we officially became a non-profit in 2009. Because of this we have a very active volunteer base and donors in this area. The following programs are available to SoCal units. Requests for unit assistance are prioritized in the order in which the applications are received. If requesting a barracks project (Operation Rack Pack), we require 4-6 months advanced notice for units over 200 service members.  Now taking requests for spring- fall of 2023.

Programs available in SoCal:
  • OHH Camp JOY (5 hour camp for children with a deployed family member and a break for parents on the homefront)
  • OHH Baby Showers (for deployed units only) 
  • Operation Rack Pack (barracks project for returning single service members) -- 4 months prior notice required for units with more than 200 service members returning
  • Operation Christmas Spirit
    • Unit requests to participate with family "adoptions," single service member gifts and toys for unit Christmas parties must be received by 10/15/22
  • Operation Enduring Support Crisis Assistance for families in emergency situations

Washington, DC Metro Area

The following programs are available to DMV units. Requests for unit assistance are prioritized in the order in which the applications are received. If requesting a barracks project (Operation Rack Pack),  Now taking requests for spring-fall  of 2021.

Programs available in the DC Metro area:
  • OHH Baby Showers (for a minimum of 12 expecting mommies)
  • ​Operation Christmas Spirit
    • Unit requests to participate with family "adoptions," single service member gifts or toys for unit parties must be submitted by 10/15/20
  • Operation Enduring Support Crisis Assistance for families in emergency situations

Camp Lejeune, North Carolina

The following programs are available to Camp Lejeune units. Requests for unit assistance are prioritized in the order in which the applications are received. If requesting a barracks project (Operation Rack Pack), we require 4-6 months advanced notice for units over 200 service members.  Now taking requests for summer-fall of 2021.
Programs available on Camp Lejeune:
  • ​OHH Baby Showers  and Operation Rack Pack:  Due to COVID 19 restrictions we do not have any barracks projects or baby showers planned for the remainder of 2020. Units may request programs starting in March of 2021.
  • Operation Christmas Spirit
    • Unit requests to participate through family "adoptions," single service member gifts, or toys for unit Christmas parties must be received by 10/15/20
  • Operation Enduring Support Crisis Assistance for families in emergency situations

San Antonio, TX Area (Fort Sam Houston and Lackland AFB)

The following programs are available to San Antonio, TX units. Requests for unit assistance are prioritized in the order in which the applications are received and must be requested 4-6 months prior to the requested dates. Now taking requests for spring-fall of 2021.

Programs available in San Antonio area:
  • Operation Christmas Spirit. Requests to participate with family "adoptions," single service member gifts or toys for unit Christmas parties must be received by 10/15/20
  • Operation Enduring Support Crisis Assistance for families in emergency situations 

Colorado Springs/Denver area (Fort Carson, Buckley AFB & Peterson AFB)

The following programs are available to Colorado Springs/Denver area units. Requests for unit assistance are prioritized in the order in which the applications are received. If requesting a barracks project (Operation Rack Pack), we require 4-6 months advanced notice for units over 200 service members.  Now taking requests for spring -fall of 2021.

Programs available in Colorado Springs/Denver:
  • OHH Baby Showers (for deployed units only) 
  • Operation Rack Pack (barracks project for returning single service members) -- 4-6 months prior notice required for units with more than 200 service members returning
  • Operation Christmas Spirit
    • Requests to participate with family "adoptions," single service member gift or toys for unit parties must be received by 10/15/20
