Host an Angel Tree for All to See
Angel trees are a great way to collect donations if you are hosting as:
- A group of 20 or more.
- A group or business that will meet at least twice between now and December 10th or daily.
- A group with a planned meeting space or office space where a tree can be prominently displayed with gift options.
- A group that has someone willing to organize and mail/drop off gifts.
How do angel trees work?
1. Decide what you'd like to focus your collection on: Please note that this page is just for ideas, when you are ready please register for the appropriate effort using the links below.
3. Create or purchase ornaments/gift tags/angels on which you will attach each wish. See the adorable tag UPS employees created above as an example.
4. Create a checkout sheet. We suggest numbering each tag or listing out each wish on a check out sheet. When a group member picks a gift to buy, they simply sign out the tag with their name and email address. We suggest including space for them to sign the tag back in and include a value of their donation for a tax receipt.
5. Set up and decorate your tree. Place it in a prominent spot that your group members, congregation or employees will see and be able to approach to look over the tags.
6. Set deadline for all gifts to be returned. We suggest December 10th so you have plenty of time to reach out to stragglers, wrap and drop off or mail.
7. Create a drop box for returned gifts OR plan a drop off event (drive thru drop offs, wrapping parties, and company Christmas parties are all great ways to collect items).
8. Drop off your collection to OHH at our designated locations and drop off events OR plan to mail your donations to ARRIVE by December 12th.
